BOOKS!

Taken from :iconmagalina:

. So, you can read! Congrats!

Are you reading a book right now? How far are you into it and what do you think so far? If you're not, what was the last book you read and how did you feel about it?

Of my own volition, I'm reading a very quirky novel called Johannes Cabal the Necromancer by Jonathon Howard. I'm about 30 pages from the end, at a very climactic scene near the train. Aah, I love it, at that. I love Horst (a vampire who is an accident based on his brother, Johannes, early magic lessons) and I really like Johannes despite that fact that he's a soulless asshole. He's a funny soulless asshole...

. Do you have a favorite book? Do you have... a book you really liked, at least?

8D DANGEROUS question to ask when I don't have a backspace key, but I'm absolutely in love with anything Tim O'Brien writes.

. What would you say is your favorite genre to read? What to tend to steer away from?

I steer away from general fantasy, finding it overdone and pretty boring. I also steer away from general romance. I really like mystery novels, war novels, war mystery novels, oh and ... slash (menxmen) Yeah. I'm cool like that.

. Do you read more fiction or non-fiction/information books?

Fiction without a doubt.

. How about a favorite author, or perhaps a few?

Did I mention Tim O'Brien? I did?... I also really like Agatha Christie. F. Scott Fitzgerald is pretty good too.

. Have you read any terrible books? Something you'd recommend staying away from?

... I hate Lord of the Rings. I will never, ever, ever like that series. I also usually read stuff BECAUSE I think it's bad, just for the lols, so I don't really recommend staying away from any of it. (For example Twilight, that's a horrid book... Laughed my way through that one...)

. Do you reread books, or is once enough? Any exceptions so far?

Again, speaking of my own volition, I tend to read a book only once, though I've picked up several Tim O'Brien books again and again. :3

. What were some of your favorite books as a child?

Um. Me? Read? As a child? You're funny.

. Do you usually pick books from the kids, teen, young adult, or adult books? How old are you, if you don't mind?

Adult, though :iconkyriaasimi: has gotten me a bit more interested in young adult. For the record, Johannes Cabal is what I'd classify as inbetween these two ... Lola the Latex Lady >>

. Do you buy books much or mostly just borrow?

... Buy and borrow.

. Have you read any books after seeing them in movie form? Which did you enjoy more?

Uh... uhm... No. I haven't.

. What about reading the book before there was a movie? How did you feel about the movie? Did you even bother seeing it?

Redwall cartoon was cute... Harry Potter was...meh okay. Twilight was amazingly worse in this form.. and... uh. Let's see here... Oh. I won't ever watch the Kite Runner. If Hassan has no split lip, I am not interested. I bet they even botched the rape.

. Do you read any other forms of literature aside from novels? Such as graphic novels, comics, (fan fiction???) etc.?

Yes. Yes to that all.

. What is a book you want to read, but haven't yet? What intrigues you about it?

Currently, I guess I'm kind of interested in Paper Towns by John Green, but that's more because I'm a vlogbrothers fan, admittedly.

. If you could rewrite the end of one book (or any other part, I suppose), which would you choose? If you were satisfied with every book you read's end, yay.

Harry Potter epilogue, good bye.

If you can think of one, name a book that made you:

- cry: The Kite Runner

- laugh: Johannes Cabal the Necromancer xD

- think, in a deeper sense than the obvious: ... most books... if they're good.

- feel pure happiness: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

- become so addicted you put off everything in order to finish it: ... No book that I can recall has given me that feeling.

- die of boredom: The Return of the Native by Hardy and Great Expectations by Dickens.

- learn something new: H.P. Lovecraft made me (and Kay) learn "squamous" was a word. (He's an author but he uses that word ...often.)

- squirm with squickiness: Ten Little Niggers (or Indians)

- squirm with glee: ... Uh. Am. Uhm. Hm. That's pretty much only a NERD reaction to things... meaning I do that a lot. Over... most if not all things... (DID I MENTION TIM O'BRIEN?)

- very embarrassed to be reading it: Twilight XD (same as maga)

- angry: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
